Vietnam 5: Saigon's Thien Hau Buddhist Temple

Murphy and Loc outside of Thien Hau Temple

The serenity of the Thien Hau Buddhist Temple (built in 1760) is located just blocks from the madness of the Chinese Market.  It was a pleasant change of pace to wander peacefully through the Temple and its grounds, smelling the incense, and enjoying the quiet!

A worshiper stands in prayer amidst the incense smoke.

Incense before the Buddha
A pair of enormous ceremonial temple bells
Candles lit by worshipers
Murphy lights a coil of incense for the
health of a friend.  It was hung from the
ceiling with many other smoking coils.
