Arriving at Sam's Anchor Inn |
Proud Grandpa
Dinner tonight was at Sam's Anchor Inn, a place that was probably the nicest restaurant on the island in the early 1970's when I first dined there - and it is still a very classy joint forty years later. The chef cooked at our table and did some fancy juggling with the salt and pepper shakers - think Tom Cruise in Cocktail. Little Olive was mesmerized by the chef!
Erin and I had steak and lobster, while Tim had steak and shrimp. The meal included a unique bean soup and a garden salad, as well as grilled sprouts, peppers, and potatoes along with fried rice. It was wonderful! Tim had a cocktail that was served in a skull! While we ate we were also entertained by a mynah bird whose beautiful whistling could be heard throughout the restaurant.
