Strolling Toward the Riverfront

by Pa Rock
Lots of color and interesting architecture
World Traveler

Our early  morning destination was the riverfront area of Taipei where Valerie hoped to rent a bicycle and ride along the river's edge while Murphy and I visited some of the small shops in the area.  Here are a few of the scenes that we passed during our walk from the subway to the river.

A bakery window
Some signs of demolition
There was no shortage of food choices
Walking further along, heading toward the river
Taiwanese homeless man - not a common sight
A relatively slow intersection
Further along
And still further along - walking, walking!
My name's Buddha.  How may I help you?
Street corner Buddhist shrine and shop
Close-up of the actual shrine
